ABS Wind was proud to be represented by Alejandro Pardiñas Jr., Sales Engineer, at the 2026 Collegiate Wind Competition (CWC) Eastern Regional event hosted at Penn State University.

During the event, Alejandro participated in both the Industry Panel on Friday and the Industry Roundtable on Saturday, engaging with students, industry leaders, and renewable energy professionals from across the wind sector.

Alongside Neel Sheth from Clearway Energy Group and Kacie Stewart from Emerson Automation Technologies, Alejandro discussed current challenges in wind turbine component manufacturing, including domestic sourcing, steel requirements, and the growing role of U.S. manufacturing in strengthening the wind energy supply chain.

The discussions also emphasized the importance of innovation, collaboration, and workforce development as the wind industry continues to grow and evolve.

For Alejandro, the event was especially meaningful as a former Penn State student and past Collegiate Wind Competition participant. His experience competing in CWC during his undergraduate years helped shape his passion for renewable energy and provided early exposure to the multidisciplinary nature of the industry — from engineering and grid integration to project development and operations.

“Events like CWC are incredibly valuable because they connect students directly with industry professionals and provide real insight into the future of wind energy,” said Pardiñas.

ABS Wind is honored to support initiatives like the Collegiate Wind Competition that help inspire and prepare the next generation of renewable energy professionals.
