The largest test bench for wind turbines in LATAM has arrived at ABS WIND BRAZIL

After announcing its acquisition in October of last year and after months of intense effort and logistical planning work, we can finally announce that the 2.5MW Power Transmission Load Test Rig with the capacity to service 90% of the Gearboxes installed in Brazil , is already in our ABS WIND facilities in Macaíba – RN.

The maneuvers to transport the equipment to the site have required a large investment and complex planning of the works, which have lasted for more than 60 days. Since its departure from the United States and until its reception at the ABS Wind Brasil facilities, our Power Transmission Load Test Rig 2.5 Mw equipment has traveled 2,200 km by road and more than 3,000 km by sea between the ports of Houston ( USA) and Natal (BRA). 22 containers were used, and a total of 8 additional volumes of non-standardized dimensions.

Last week Alejandro Pardinas and Alvaro Ortega traveled to our workshop in Macaiba-RN, Brazil to see, together with Alcides Cestari Netto and David Zanella, the progress of the adaptation works of the facilities for our new Power Transmission Load Test Rig 2.5MW, the only test bench of its capacity in LATAM! The operation, which required complex and meticulous planning, is now in its final stage. Once the frame that will support the test bench has been completed, we continue preparing the technical and spatial conditions necessary to guarantee its optimal operation. The opening of the complete facility is scheduled for October 21. ABS WIND extend an open invitation to customers and suppliers that are interested in knowing more about this massive facility for turbine repair and maintenance.
