Four-day overhaul and repair of the main rotary kiln’s gearbox for Holcim Costa Rica!

The gearbox had been operating satisfactorily for a long time. As a preventive measure, HOLCIM Costa Rica scheduled a plant shutdown for a maximum of 6 days to follow its maintenance protocol. During this period, ABS Costa Rica performed an overhaul that confirmed the need to replace 100% of the bearings, seals, oil seals, rings, and covers for a perfect axial adjustment. The gearbox was also subjected to the no-load test bench; adjustments were verified; tightness tests; temperature; vibration; and oil analysis were performed.

Furthermore, the customer had the option of performing and supervising their own NDT controls at our Cartago facility with our specialized technicians.

If only a few days ago we received an award for “Operational Agility”, we can now affirm that ABS Costa Rica is confirmed in the territory, not only as a reference for the quality of its services but also for its ability to respond to any challenge in record time.
